Welcome to the Spellbinders Summer Road Trip Partner Hop!  We are so excited you’re here.

Let’s get started, but be sure to read to the end for the Spellbinders giveaway, plus a bonus giveaway from us!

Our first tutorial is by Emily Lanham:

4th of July Home Decor

When most people see hearts, they think love and Valentine’s Day… When I saw the scalloped hearts from Spellbinders, I immediately thought of a fun 4th of July project using Authentique Paper’s “Freedom” collection. Since the holiday is quickly approaching, I wanted to create a fun little home decor piece that is quick and easy for anyone to whip up and display this summer!
4th of July Home Decor

To create this project you will need:
Paper, Ribbon, Spellbinders Dies, and any other embellishment that you would like to add.

1. Chose the size of your project by using Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities dies. Cut one large piece and one smaller to sit inside of the larger piece.
2. Glue these together with pop dots for dimension.
3. Chose a sentiment for the top. I used the cut apart “Enhancements” from Authentique Paper’s “Freedom” collection.
4. Add lots and lots of beautiful May Arts ribbon & trims. I LOVE the trims so much, they make it easy to jazz up any project!
5. Embellish! Add anything extra to make your project shine. I love to add flowers and sometimes buttons to my projects.
6. Be sure to add a string to the top if you plan to hang your project! May Arts burlap string is perfect for this!

Thanks for joining us today! I hope that I was able to inspire you to create fun home decor with May Arts & Spellbinders!

May Arts Ribbon Used-

Other Supplies Used:
  • Spellbinders- PHD-006: Mini Scalloped Hearts, Grand Nestabilities: Grand Scalloped Rectangles
  • Authentique Paper-“Freedom” Collection
  • Flowers
  • Stick Pins

Our Second tutorial is by Gini Williams Cagle:

There is nothing better than a cool breeze on a warm summer day. The smell of fresh air blowing through the windows is wonderful, but it’s even more delightful when you have a little piece of art to dance in the wind. When I received the Spellbinders Birds and Butterflies die set, immediately, I pictured ribbons adorned with delicate vellum butterflies.

 Butterfly Breeze Catcher

Cut a variety of colors of 3/8” satin ribbon at about 18” long. Take each piece, and attach to a plastic ring using a half hitch knot. To secure the ribbon further, take the two ribbon tails and tie in a square knot.

Butterfly Breeze Catcher

Continue adding ribbon in this manner, and push the pieces tight together, so that none of the base ring shows.

Butterfly Breeze Catcher

Find two matching tails across from each other, and tie together to form your hanger.

Butterfly Breeze Catcher

Die cut as many butterflies as you would like to add to your Breeze Catcher (you will need just a few of the large butterflies, and many of the smaller ones). Glue onto the ribbons, making sure to space the butterflies out. This is easier to do if you have the Breeze Catcher hanging, rather than lying flat.

May Arts Ribbons Used:

Other Supplies Used:

  • Spellbinder: Birds and Butterflies Die Set PHS-507, Grand Calibur Machine
  • WorldWin Paper Vellum
  • 4” Plastic Craft Ring
  • Collall Tacky Glue
