Snowman Gift Card Holders with Ribbon Embellishments

Do you ever experience that awkward moment when you are short-handed on holiday gifts or are so far behind that you purchase and hand our your presents after Christmas? I have so many thoughtful family and friends that I have both happen to me year after year! The easy solution for me is to give gift cards and this year I decided to decorate the holders up with some cute little snowmen and May Arts Ribbon available at The Ribbon Resource!

Snowman Gift Card Holders with Ribbon Embellishments

This first holder has a shabby chic look, and features the awesome ½” Pom Pom Pom Pink Valentine’s Day Ribbon (462-17). After coloring and trimming out the snowman and hat, I snipped off a single pom from the trim and glued it to the snowman’s paper hat. I then added a length of trim to the upper half of the gift card holder and tied it with Natural Burlap String (SM10). I also secured the holder a bit more with a bow of the natural string underneath the snowman.

The second card has a more clean and simple look, perfect for those guys in your life.

For this gift card holder I chose a darker carstock and kept the ribbon choices clean and simple, using two colors of raffia that coordinated with the dark blue. I first wrapped the holder around it’s “belly” with a mix of Parrot Green (JPP46) and Light Blue (JPP34) paper raffia ribbon, adhered the snowman with dimensional adhesive and then tied a scarf made out of the raffia ribbon too!

And for my third card, I wanted to showcase my favorite ribbon with a big fluffy bow for the snowman’s scarf.

I chose to stamp, color and cutout a larger snowman and then adhered the snowman to a light yellow cardstock base. I then used 1.25” Silk Ribbon in Red (SK14) to tie a bow around the “belly” of the gift card holder and around the snowman’s neck for a scarf. I added some interest by including a simple knotted-end tie of Twisted Rope Ribbon in Red/White (RJ14).

It was really fun to see how many different looks I could achieve by using some of the same supplies and just changing out the colors and ribbons! I liked the ability to customize to the person I was giving the gift card too!
