2015-16 Prima Ribbonistas

I’m a 31 year old work at home mom living in Southern Ohio. I am happily married to the love of my life and childhood best friend, Brandon. I have a beautiful 6 year old daughter, Reagan, and a handsome 8 year old step-son, Reid. A few years ago I got back into scrapbooking and decided to try again, after losing all interest in my hobby after a downfall I had, I finally gained the strength to start over and try again! I am very thankful for my husband who supports my hobby and is right there with me pushing me to keep at it! I am also a hoarder of all things crafty, mainly paper & ribbon. Working for Authentique Paper and designing for May Arts (my 2 faves) helps to fuel my hoarding addiction.

Gini William Cagle

I’m a creative girl, who lives in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina.  You can usually find me in my studio, wrapped in ribbon, sprinkled with glitter, playing with paper and paint. It’s such a joy to be back on the May Arts design team for another year.  For me, any project just isn’t finished until I’ve added some of their wonderful ribbons.

Jen Shears

My name is Jen Shears and I’m so happy to be returning as a Prima Ribbonista on the May Arts blog team!!! Working on the May Arts blog has been an amazing experience; I love having the opportunity to play with all the gorgeous ribbon May Arts carries!

I’ve been ‘crafty’ as long as I can remember- card making, scrapbooking, sewing- a little bit of everything.

I’m married to a wonderfully supportive man, Cory, who encourages me in my creative outlets. I have a 9 year old daughter, Hadley, who enjoys creating right alongside me!

I am mainly a stay-at-home-mom; although I do work one day/week as a dental hygienist and spend LOTS of time at my daughter’s school!  Besides crafting I enjoy gardening, photography, boating and skiing- anything resembling play!

It is always so fun to look through the last year’s ribbon projects- it’s hard to pick favorites, but it is easy to see that my favorite projects always have ribbon!!

My name is Jenifer Cowles and I live in a small town in Idaho.  I work in an IT Department by day and Scrap and Sew after the kiddos go to sleep by night.  I have 3 cutie pies who give me tons to scrap about ages 14-8.  I have been doing some sort of crafting my entire life and my day just doesn’t feel complete without making something, especially something that has ribbon on it.  I love a challenge and can make just about anything.

Jennifer Davey

There once was a girl named Jennifer who loved to craft and sew. One day she realized that her love for creating needed to be shared with other to help inspire them to explore their creative side. As a stay at home working mom she has the joy of sharing her talents with others through working as a writer for several publications like Sew News, Sew it All and Crafts n’ things as well as working with great companies like May Arts, Elna, Riley Blake, Accuquilt and many more.

Karen Baker

I’m a graphic designer by trade and mama of two energetic boys who spends weekdays at work and late evenings crafting. I’m drawn to clean and simple style, yet like to dabble in shabby and chic, elegant and fun and cute too! I really enjoy card making, stamp illustrating and interior design. Anything that will stretch my boundaries, challenge me and make me a better designer is what I strive for! Oh, and I LOVE working with May Arts Ribbon.

Karen Hanson

My name is Karen Hanson, and I am a crafter from Calgary, Alberta (about 3 hours north of Montana along the beautiful Rocky Mountains).  First and foremost, I am a mom of two adorable little girls and wife to an equally cute (and creative,) hubby! I originally started my blogging about my crafty adventures as a way of keeping myself “honest” about creating!  I had received a Cricut as a Mother’s Day gift, and wanted to make sure that I actually used it.  I was hoping my online scrapping friends could help encourage me to “keep on crafting, just keep crafting!”  Things grew from there, as did my scrapping and crafting.  I now love creating everything from cards, to scrapbooking layouts to home decor projects, and even throw in a bit of sewing now and again.  I have been a huge fan of May Arts ribbon since I first discovered the product through a joint challenge with DCWV.  I cannot tell you how excited I am to share ideas, tips and tricks and even a few lessons I learn along the way as part of this great design team!

Lori Williams

My name is Lori Williams and I’m a happy fun loving southern girl from Western North Carolina, USA.  My sister and I got into scrapbooking with the birth of my first born and I’m happy to say we have come a long way since those early days. I’m blessed that my sister lives next door as we share, encourage and enable each other in everything we do.

My background is in Metals/Production Crafts but I’ve always worked with various forms of mediums.   My style is one that is clean yet very detailed and I love to create handmade flowers. Who doesn’t love ribbon, it’s great for adorning anything and everything and blends with any medium, so I’d love to work with the May Arts design team and push myself and followers to use ribbon in your everyday life. It’s so much more than just a bow on a card.

I have two adorable little boys, Cole and Will, that have stolen my heart, along with our Wheaten Terrier, Finley.  There is never a dull moment in our household, that’s for sure.  My oldest son Will is disable so I really enjoy being able to share my creations with the world even though I may be home with my kids.  I enjoy reading, cooking, spending time with family and believe it or not…. pushing myself in Crossfit.  My goal in life is to be better today than I was yesterday and to make sure I pay it forward.

Mallika Kejriwal

My name is Mallika Kejriwal. I am from India and I just moved to Chicago from sunny California. I have loved colors, threads, ribbons and such since the age of 5 – I remember making pretty clothes for my dolls as a little girl.

As I grew up, I engrossed myself in studies and forgot about my creative side. It was during my junior year of engineering (I am a computer science graduate), that I started making cards using newspapers, old scraps of paper etc. I stumbled upon a card making blog and was simply amazed by the amount of glamor that could be associated with a piece of paper. I started my own blog – Aola Handmade Cards – after undergrad and have not looked back since.

I love teaching and inspiring . Crafting is now not just a passion for me, it’s also an addiction! I hope to inspire you all with wonderful ideas and projects.

Marielle LeBlanc

I have always been a crafty person but really got addicted to scrapbooking after the birth of our son Gabriel in 2002.

I live on the east coast of Canada, in Dieppe, New Brunswick, with my husband of 14 years and my two sweet boys, Gabriel (12) and Felix (10).

I  work part-time as a nurse in the outpatients clinics. I also love to play in the garden, go on hikes with the boys and I’m the #1 fan of my boys at hockey in the Winter time.

I am so pleased to have been chosen as a new member of the May Arts Ribbon design team. It’s going to be a fun and creative year!

Michele Kosciolek

Born and raised in the mid-west, lived in California for 18 years and now I am back where I started.  I have always loved creating, started with cards back when I could barely spell and now I have my fingers into everything crafty.  I am so excited and honored to be on the May Arts design team, being a Ribbonista was on my crafty bucket list!

Rhea Weigand

I’ve always been creative, from woodworking, painting, and crocheting to paper arts; with many other crafts in between.  I try not having a particular “Style” although a few of my students will call it “fussy” due to all the details I love Copic Markers, making all things pretty with Ribbon, Mixed Media and anything Vintage or Shabby Chic, oh yes…and Buttons!!! Just recently moving to the Finger Lakes Region of New York, I am now addicted to antiquing.

Terri Burson

I’m a long-time crafter who grew up surrounded by art and music, endeavoring in school art classes, while pursuing piano and voice instruction.  A few years ago, I took up scrapbooking, which led to cardmaking, and subsequently, the start of Waving My Wand.  In the few short years that I’ve been craft blogging, I co-founded Mountain Plains Crafters, a craft challenge site and am the social media expert, a.k.a, jack of all trades!  I’m a member of the DecoArt Blogger Outreach Program and have guest designed and/or been featured at the Unity Stamp Co, So Suzy Stamps and Bella Crafts Quarterly.  Currently, I’m also on the design team for the DoubleClick Skittles embellishment line.  In the summer of 2014, I was the Guest Blogger and Show Photographer for the Craft & Hobby Association’s Inaugural Paper Arts Trade Show.  I’ve also participated in some joint craft projects with Laura Kelly Designs and Tanner Bell.  I love to write as well, and occasionally write craft articles about my observations in addition to doing product reviews.  Personally, I’ve been married for 30 something years (yes, it’s true!), and have a 13 year old son.  I work for an agency that serves children with disabilities and am the pianist at our church where you can also find me singing on occasion.

Tracy McLennon

I live my crafty life in Truro, Nova Scotia Canada with my sweet and talented husband who is a music teacher, our 2 beautiful teenage daughters and our crazy pooch Kya.

I have been a scrapbooker for about 16 years now. My love and obsession for it began when I was working at a pro photographic shop and they began to bring in scrapbooking product. I gravitated towards it as I have always been crafty and enjoyed the arts. Shortly after that I began teaching classes at the store and I have been teaching ever since. My passion is for scrapbooking. I also have a background in photography, calligraphy and graphic design. Some of my other interests are geocaching and I play the french horn.

I love to share my crafty passion whether it’s through social media, publications or teaching at classes and events in my area.
